Fix Windows Media Center Issues

Clean Boot
You cannot boot automatically into Clean mode, and there are a few steps involved in this method. You will have to disable software and services and then restart your system.
Step-1: Open the run box using shortcut keys Win + R.
Step-2: Type misconfig and press Enter.
Step-3: Click on the Services tab.
Step-4: Check the Hide all Microsoft services box.
Step-5: Click on Disable all.
Step-6: Select Apply.
Step-7: Close the System Configuration window.
Step-8: Now open the Task Manager using shortcut keys Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
Step-9: Select the Startup tab.
Step-10: Click on the Enabled programs and select Disable.
Step-11: Close Task Manager and Restart your system.
Update Drivers
You can fix these issues by updating the drivers as well.
- Open the WinX menu using the shortcut keys Win + X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Click on Display adapters to expand the option.
- Right-click on the driver and select Update Driver.
- Select the Search automatically for the drivers option.
- After the drivers have updated, restart your system.
Fix Windows Media Center By Updating
You should always ensure that your system is up to date. Sometimes, if your system isn’t updated, it can cause problems for your system too.
Step-1: Open the Settings app using shortcut keys Win + I.
Step-2: Select Windows Update from the left pane.
Step-3: Click on Check for updates, and if any update is available, update and restart your system.
CHKDSK
If there are any drive-related issues, you can use this utility to fix these problems.
- Click on the search icon on the taskbar—type cmd.
- Select Run as administrator.
Type chkdsk /f C: and press Enter.
C is the drive name. If you want to scan the D drive, you can write D instead of D. - Restart your system after the scan is complete.
EpgListings
Media center issues can be resolved by renaming the EpgListings directory. Follow the steps below:
Step-1: Open the explorer using shortcut keys Win + E.
Step-2: Type the following path in the address bar and press Enter:
C:ProgramDataMicrosofteHomePackages
Step-3: Look for EpgListings and rename them.
